What is it?

The 'Tailored Cylinder Request Form' is a document used when the need arises to replace a special cylinder 'Like for like.' Populating the diagram accurately will ensure cylinder connections remain in the same place meaning little or no pipe work alterations, something useful for those tight spaces. Normally, you would fax or email the document to someone like Gledhill to make your cylinder.

When would you use it?

You would use the 'Tailored Cylinder Request Form' when encountering an old installation where an unusual cylinder replacement is required or for a special cylinder installation where a non standard size is required e.g. replacing an Elson tank or a torpedo cylinder in a tight cupboard.

Why would you use it?

You would use the 'Tailored Cylinder Request Form' to collect accurate and relevant measurements to enable a useable cylinder change; inaccuracies will increase costs dramatically as these are usually a 'One-off' replacement so it needs to be right!

Additional Information

It has to be said that this is a great 'Get out of jail' card that really can resolve some of the not so common cylinder replacements we come across. Some time spent measuring can be a superb time saver when standard cylinder replacements aren't available. This can be used where space is a premium and even when encountering passivated zinc pipe when a straight swap is required without any pipe work alteration. I guarantee you will wish you had a copy when the problem crops up.
